Unfortunately because of WordPress.com having problems with commenting and little to no sign of the problems being corrected, and unrelated to my last move from unfinishedperson.com to unfinishedperson2.com, I am moving temporarily to http://unfinishedperson.tumblr.com/. The main reason I am doing this is because I’m participating in a 30-day photo challenge with several other bloggers and need a place where people can comment. Plus the format of Tumblr blogs fits well with photo posts.

I plan on moving to my own self-hosted blog, hopefully with the domain name: unfinishedperson.com, in May or June, where the archives of all my blogs will be able to be found. I will keep you updated here and on unfinishedperson.tumblr.com as to the exact timetable.

Today in between watching some NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship games, I’m planning to read Sylvia Plath’s The Colossus & Other Poems, her first book of poetry, which I forgot that I had borrowed from the Free Library of Philadelphia on e-book. Earlier this week, I’ve been reading My Thoughts Be Bloody: The Bitter Rivalry Between Edwin and John Wilkes Booth That Led to an American Tragedy by Nora Titone. However, I haven’t gotten as far as I would like, because it’s been busy this past week at the library where I work, and I plan on reading more this week.

As I mentioned last week on my old blog, I’m still thinking I might continue Raymond Chandler’s Philip Marlowe series or Lawrence Block’s Burglar/Bernie Rhodebarr series or maybe even start Block’s Matthew Scudder series here soon, to go along with the Titone book.  I think the latter might be an ongoing project for this month, not because it’s boring, but because it is a longer book than I’m used to reading, at almost 500 pages even on e-book, and I’ve never been one to rush nonfiction. I am enjoying learning about the Booth brothers and their father, Junius Booth, and how the rivalry between the brothers influenced John Wilkes to assassinate our 16th President.

Sometime this week, I do want to listen to part of Quantum of Solace: The Complete James Bond Short Stories by Ian Fleming as narrated by Simon Vance. On Saturday night, I will be taking part in a conversation with a group of bloggers about the audiobook on Twitter as part of the Shaken, Not Stirred challenge . Then we will be watching For Your Eyes Only, which along with the movie Quantum of Solace was based on the first five of nine short stories in the book (that last piece of knowledge, thanks to Tanya of the blog dog eared copy). I already have the movie from Netflix, so now I just have to make the time to listen to the book. Luckily, this week I have a little more time on Monday and Wednesday that I plan to take advantage of.

Why?

Originally when I opened the doors of this blog, these were my reasons:

1. This theme (which also seems apropos seeing that I’m working at a library) allows me to consolidate my online presence into less places. I don’t have to have a main blog AND a microblog or two (as I did when I had both a Tumblr and a Posterous blog, both dead as of today). I now mainly can be found here, with another way to access this blog found through my Facebook page.
2. My focus no longer will be on themed days of body (Motivation Monday), mind (Midweek Review) and soul (Flashback Friday). My focus now will be on sharing what I’m reading, watching and listening to — and my own observations on life, mine, yours and all of ours — through my own writing and photos, others’ writings and photos via links, and assorted media clips.

Those reasons remain valid despite that I found the numbers were lacking and some of you don’t like the design here. I’ll have to be honest that I’m not “in it” for numbers and most of those who expressed the most displeasure with the design hardly ever visited my blog, no matter where it was…at least, they never commented either place. Also I’ve been having difficulty commenting lately on Blogger blogs, but I figure it out sometimes (and sometimes I don’t, no thanks to word verification and/or openID credentials not being accepted even though I enter everything correctly). If I can deal with that, you can deal with this (or again, not).
